Brief_An Editorial illustration for The Guiardian’s Saturday Magazine, for an article on Eating Disorders entitled ‘The Crying Game’. The illustration has to communicate young people struggling with self-image, self-esteem and self worth who often find solace in dangerous forms of behaviour.

Solution_ Taking the ideology of the perfect unachievable figure, communicated through the image of a barbie doll, coupled with the tightening grip of a measuring tape and a gagged mouth. I chose to incorporate the article title into the illustration- the typography inspired originally by the pink bubblegum Barie logo it self which uses a similar brush script typeface, however here the typography is washed out, bleeding, and full of texture looking eroded and weathered, mimicking 1950s pulp fiction book covers.
